How do you get what you want? By going out and getting it. Plain and simple, and yet a lot of people just can’t, or won’t, or start and don’t follow through.
Me? Dude, I’m the king of not following through. So here goes. Recently, one of my goals was to present at a SQLSaturday.
What am I going to talk about? Hmm. No Clue! While I was thinking about it, SQLDusty gave me a nudge and suggested Data Warehouse Load Patterns.
So, what is that? Lets find out. I’m the kind of guy who has gone his whole career being a jack of all trades. I know a lot of stuff from simple queries to business requirements gathering and everything in between, but nothing in depth enough to talk about. I remember growing up, my Dad had a bunch of really great advice, one of the things I remember the clearest is “You learn by teaching, so if you want to learn about something, find out enough to teach someone else” or something along those lines 🙂
So I’m going to start with Load Patterns, go on to Performance Tuning, and maybe Indexing. Any suggestions?
